Thursday 1/17/08 Pansy Division headlined at The Eagle Tavern in San Francisco. The Passionistas, Boats! and Brilliant Colors opened. Pansy Division played some new songs they had just learned earlier that day, some of the new stuff is interesting, maybe this means a new album soon. Passionistas did plenty of guitar swapping and switching up of lead vocals through their set. Boats! from Sacramento had the old-school punk rock sound down, these guys put out plenty of energy by bouncing around constantly. Pansy Division is playing another show tonight (friday 1/18/08) with The Avengers and Boats! at 924 Gillman, so check that out if you missed last nights show. Continue reading »

Forever, High Castle, Tea Elles and Kool Teen played a show at the Edinburgh Castle on 1/4/08. Forever rocks you should go see them, and I’m not just saying that cause I know people in the band (Forever is former members of Me and My Arrow). High Castle was rather cool and rather loud, and then of course I was drinking with people I know in Forever during Kool Teen’s set, sorry, no photos of that one. Anyway, Tea Elles includes one of the members of The Passionistas, and I heard two brothers from Scotland, who play bass and drums in the group, some great music from these guys, but if you have a hot accent you should sing, or at least just mumble into the mic between songs alot, American’s love accents. Also great tiger mauling themed flyer.

But enough blabbering from me, I’m barely literate, here are the photos. Continue reading »

Sorry to the performers but I forgot your names, so here are a few photos from the show anyway. Oh, and sorry to the guy I hit in the head with the champagne cork. Continue reading »

Jason Webley at 12 Galaxies on 10/27/07. Webley has a quartet now, giving him a fuller sound with a backing band. He also put down the accordion a bit to play guitar, but the wittiness and humor is still there. Continue reading »

Pansy Division and The Avengers Play at Spaceland in Los Angeles. Of Course there is valet parking at a “punk” show in LA, and a lot of kids in very expensive looking outfits that think its still 1977, the year The Avengers opened for the Sex Pistols. LA sucks, but never mind the bullocks. Kick ass show, and the start of a US tour that went well, Pansy Division’s tour blog is interesting if you want to see how the whole tour went. Avengers played a great set too, the 30 year break didn’t slow them down too much. Well they did play a show at Bottom of the Hill before going to LA, Penelope Houston can definitely still rock. Oh yeah, that reminds me, Pansy Division please play a show in SF next time you go on tour so I don’t have to go to LA, thanks.
